Do you want to start your Dutch learning adventure in the most flexible way there is? The Dutch SuperStart is for you if you wish to start learning Dutch NOW – in your own time at your own pace – but with the back-up of fellow learners and a teacher to help you start to speak. This course is for those who are looking for a flexible way to learn the beginning of the Dutch language, with a relatively low investment of time and energy. Check out an example video below!

This course is for you if:
You wish to start studying Dutch but you don’t have the time to invest in an offline group course.
You want to be able to study in your own time and at your own pace - but have the option to chat with other learners and ask questions and tips.
You might have studied some basics before, but you feel like you need a structured and fun recap and want to extend your Dutch skills from there.
You want to start speaking straight away!
What is it?
This course is a combination of:
- self-study in the online Mama Dutch Academy.
- an online community on Instagram where we will come together for a full month – starting from the 12th of september.
- 3 live zoom sessions of one hour with me – where we practice speaking from the very beginning! These sessions will be on:

After signing up you get immediate acces to the video course – here you can study everything up to level A1 through video, audio and quizzes. There are four chapters which include 4 to 6 videos on different subjects. The videos vary in duration but they are a maximum of 15 minutes long. You can study at your own time, at your own pace.

→ Plus a bonus mini-masterclass on reduced speech (the mumbling that Dutchies do when they don’t follow the text-book Dutch that you are taught in other courses).
→ You have lifetime access to the video course so there’s no need to rush and you can go back to it whenever you need it.
→ The course materials are delivered in videos, where I explain everything with the help of slides. You also have the option to listen to the audio of the lesson and to download the slides.
At the end of each lesson I give you tips on how to practice more and you can take a short quiz!

My name is Mariska and as a teacher, I believe that learning a new language can be a stress-free and enjoyable activity that easily integrates into your busy life. Over the years, I’ve seen so many students lose the joy of learning Dutch. After taking a typical Dutch course, you might believe that you’re either too old or too busy to learn Dutch. Or that there’s no need to learn the language because everybody speaks English.
In this Beginners Course I’ve put together my 8+ years of experience in teaching beginners. I always love to teach beginners, but I wanted to be able to help more people. This is why I created this course—to give you a flexible and relaxed introduction into the Dutch language. The best part: you can study at your own pace and in your own home (or even during your commute to work!). Whatever suits you best.

At the end of this course you will know the basics to get around in your daily Dutch life: how to order in a restaurant, giving your opinion, how to do small talk, talking about colors and clothes and your house and much more!

FAQ
Is this course in English? Ja, all of my explanations, the slides and the quizzes will be in English. Of course I will be speaking more Dutch towards the end of our community month.
Is it a group course? Yes and no, it's the perfect combination of self-study (through the video course) and connecting with a group and teacher on Instagram. Plus of course the live sessions will take place in small groups.
What happens after I sign up? You will receive two emails. One with the confirmation of the payment and the second one with your personal username and password for the academy. You can now log in and start learning! In the days to follow I will send you more emails with tips and tricks on (learning) Dutch. And you will receive all details about the live sessions.
How long do I have access to the course materials? You will retain access to the online Academy for an unlimited amount of time.
How long will it take me to get to level A1? This really depends on how much time you have to put into the course. There is a total number of 21 videos, ranging from 7 to 15 minutes each.
I want to learn until A2, can I take this course? Yes of course you can make a good start with this course, but it will not take you to A2 (yet). I am planning on extending the course later.
